The 73rd Japan Traditional Kogei Exhibition(日本伝統工芸展) is taking place at Mitsukoshi department store in Tokyo from September 2 to 15.
The exhibition requires the applicants to create sophisticated design based on high degree of professional skill in Japanese traditional techniques. Many of the award winners draw inspiration from nature or use it as a motif. Most of the venues charge an admission fee, but they are well worth a visit.
